A 30-member volunteer Board of Directors, representing a cross-section of our business and residential communities, governs the ESEF. Board member terms are three years. The Board of Directors meets six times a year.
Purpose of the Board
- Set policy, establish committees, and select / remove officers and employees
- Establish long-term goals and objectives
- Act as fiduciary: manage, invest, and distribute Foundation funds
ESEF Board Member Qualifications
- Commitment to the educational ideals of the ESUSD
- Willingness to participate in the fundraising process
- Active contributor of time, talent and resources to the ESEF
ESEF Board Member Responsibilities
- Prepare for and attend scheduled meetings (no more than two consecutive absences)
- Actively participate in ESEF programs, activities, and events
- Convey the case for support to potential contributors
- Actively participate on at least one committee
- Fulfill fiduciary duties as outlined in the bylaws
