About our Board of Directors

A 30-member volunteer Board of Directors, representing a cross-section of our business and residential communities, governs the ESEF. Board member terms are three years. The Board of Directors meets six times a year.

Purpose of the Board
  • Set policy, establish committees, and select / remove officers and employees
  • Establish long-term goals and objectives
  • Act as fiduciary: manage, invest, and distribute Foundation funds
ESEF Board Member Qualifications
  • Commitment to the educational ideals of the ESUSD
  • Willingness to participate in the fundraising process
  • Active contributor of time, talent and resources to the ESEF
ESEF Board Member Responsibilities
  • Prepare for and attend scheduled meetings (no more than two consecutive absences)
  • Actively participate in ESEF programs, activities, and events
  • Convey the case for support to potential contributors
  • Actively participate on at least one committee
  • Fulfill fiduciary duties as outlined in the bylaws
